Supporting your child wih their Times Tables

During our Numeracy lessons this term we have noticed that many of the children in the Phase do not know their times tables. By the end of Year 3 we would expect all of the children to know their x2, x3, x4, x5 and x10, with x6, x7, x8 and x9 being learnt by the end of Year 4. We have reinforced the need for the children to learn their times tables as it underlies many of the concepts we cover in numeracy. This can often be the reason why children struggle with their written calculations. Read more.
